You can switch your current plan to another one as you like.
1. Gas/electricity rate plans and changes
Changing your gas rate plan
- An application form will be mailed to you. Please fill it out and return it to us.
Changing your electricity rate plan
- Changes need to be requested by the contract holder or their spouse (in the case of corporate customers, the electricity service contract signatory or a person authorized to make such applications).
- If you wish to switch from the Basic Plan to Always Electricity 1S, 1, or 2, apply via the webpage linked below.
Note: Electricity-only customers are not able to request these changes online. Visit here for details.
Gas/Electricity Set Discount
- Customers holding city gas and electricity service contracts with Tokyo Gas receive discounts on electricity charges based on their rate plan. Basic Plan customers receive the Gas/Electricity Set Discount’s fixed rate B, which applies to each electricity account a 0.5% discount on the monthly total (including tax) of the electricity base rate and metered charges (discount fractions are rounded down). Always Electricity 3 customers receive the Gas/Electricity Set Discount’s fixed amount A, which applies to each electricity account a 275 JPY discount on the monthly electricity base rate.
-
The discount is provided to customers who meet all the following requirements and whose application is approved by Tokyo Gas.
(1) The city gas (hereafter, “gas”) and electricity supplied through Tokyo Gas are used at the same location
(2) The gas service contract and electricity service contract are held by the same customer
(3) The gas and electricity charges are paid as a combined total
(Here, “combined total” means both charges are simultaneously paid as a sum with the same credit card when paying by credit card, from the same financial institution account when paying by direct debit, or with the same paper bill when paying by paper billing.)

3. Payment due date and late payment interest
Payment due date
- The due date for payment of gas/electricity charges is 30 days from either the day after the meter reading date or the day after the electricity billing date. Please be sure to make payment by the due date. (In cases where the 30th day falls on a holiday, the due date is the next business day.)
Late payment interest
- Late payment interest is applied to overdue gas/electricity charges at a rate of 0.0274% per day until full payment is received. In general, the late payment interest amount is added to the first gas/electricity billing after the applicable overdue charges are paid.
- In the case of Tokyo Gas gas service contracts (General Gas Supply Contract or Residential Selectable Plan Contract) or electricity service contracts (Basic Plan or any Always Electricity plan), late payment interest is not charged when late payments are received within ten days from the day immediately following the payment due date.
