- You (or a representative) need to be present for the technician’s visit.
- The technician will do an ignition test and explain safety rules.
Stopping service
- Visit attendance is not required in general.
- However, attendance is required in cases where the technician cannot access the meter (such as when the building has a locked entrance).

Electricity
- Your presence is not required for technician visits when starting or stopping service.
- If moving out of a home, please switch off your main breaker (ampere breaker) before vacating.
Please read the following
- You need to provide your customer number when requesting to have gas service stopped.
- When stopping gas service, attendance at the technician’s visit is required if your building’s entrance is locked or otherwise inaccessible.
- Attendance at the technician’s visit is required when starting gas service. See “Attendance at technician visit” above for time slots and other information.
- You can have someone else represent you at the technician’s visit. Please inform us of the representative’s name and phone number in advance.
- After initiating these procedures, you can look up their information, make changes, and cancel them.
- In the case of procedures involving both gas and electricity services, requests to cancel either service can be made by phone.
- In some cases, electricity service contracts cannot be canceled online on the day immediately preceding the scheduled date of start of service. If this is the case, please request cancellation by phone.
- You can request cancellation of a procedure by phone if the 10-digit processing number issued when the procedure was requested begins with “3.”
- Requests to cancel a procedure after the cancellation deadline can be made by phone.
- If you cancel a procedure online and then request it again, or change the content of a request online, the new request/change will be processed as a new application. Please note that if you simultaneously applied for payment by credit card when making the original request, the credit card payment application will be canceled along with the original request.
- If you cancel a procedure requested during a promotional campaign and then request it again later, or make a change to the original request, the processing date of your application will change. Depending on the date, you may become ineligible for the promotion, so be sure to check the promotion’s guidelines in advance.
Effects of suspension of gas/electricity service
- Suspending gas or electricity service results in cancellation of that service’s contract.
- If you suspend service under the Yuttari Eco Plan, you cannot resubscribe to this plan because new applications are no longer being taken.
- If you suspend gas service under a contract providing gas and electricity as a set, the electricity service will thereafter be treated as a separate contract and thus will not be eligible for the Gas/Electricity Set Discount.
3. Deadlines for procedures
- We recommend that requests to start or stop service be made at least approximately one week in advance.
- These requests should be made as soon as possible if planning for busy moving times (March-April, beginning/end of month, etc.).

6. Payment due date, late payment interest, and what to do when a payment is missed
Payment due date
The due date for payment of gas/electricity charges is 30 days from either the day after the meter reading date or the day after the electricity billing date.
(In cases where the 30th day falls on a holiday, the due date is the next business day.)
Please be sure to make payment by the due date.
Late payment interest
Late payment interest is applied to overdue gas/electricity charges at a rate of 0.0274% per day until full payment is received. In general, the late payment interest amount is added to the first gas/electricity billing after the applicable overdue charges are paid.
- Amounts less than one yen are rounded down.
- Late payment interest is not subject to consumption taxes.
- Days past due: The number of days that a payment remained overdue, from the day immediately following the payment due date to the day the payment was made.
Note: In the case of Tokyo Gas gas service contracts (General Gas Supply Contract or Residential Selectable Plan Contract) or electricity service contracts (Basic Plan or any Always Electricity plan), late payment interest is not charged when late payments are received within ten days from the day immediately following the payment due date.
Service stoppage/resumption in the case of overdue payments
Stoppage of gas service
If gas charges remain unpaid for more than 50 days following the day immediately after the meter reading date, we may shut off gas service to that account after giving prior notice.
Resumption of gas service
Gas service stopped due to late payment will be resumed after all overdue gas charges have been paid. This requires completion of a procedure handled on another page linked below.
Cancellation of electricity service contracts due to overdue payment
If electricity charges remain unpaid past the payment due date, we will cancel the electricity service contract after giving prior notice.
